So you've been involved in networking marketing for a few months now, in order to make the business viable, you are making a long list of your friends and inviting all of them to some sort of business presentation where they can get to know the business and product. You love your product and feel really passionate about it and can see the huge potential it has. But there's just one thing going wrong....you're not making the kind of money you thought you would be.

Does this sound like you?

If you’ve been doing this for a while and are wondering why you are still broke even though you’ve been churning and burning through lists of people you know and listened to exactly what your upline told you to do?..If so then relax because you're not alone and you'll find that more than 95% of people who get involved with network marketing deal with the exact same type of hurdles you’re dealing with right now.

Probably the biggest rookie mistake made by people is assuming that network marketing is about sales and selling. There might have been a time when this was more true but networking marketing has changed - as has the world around it.

Selling doesn't work in network marketing and more than 90% of the people who join your team aren’t really interested in selling so that's one huge factor. Trying to immediately approach family and friends to sell to them is a typical follow-on mistake from the "selling" assumption.

What happens is you suffer from early failure as opposed to early success and you lose part of your motivation and momentum - these are hard to replace by the way. Remember this - your family and friends simply may not understand networking marketing so trying to involve them in your dream is going to be tough going.

Instead of trying to sell why not work at building relationships with people who are interested in your product. For example if you're promoting an energy drink product then maybe athletes or people who suffer from constant fatigue are valuable relationships? They're definitely a more valid relationship to have than trying to promote energy drinks to people who are constantly buzzing with energy. When you build these types of relationships you create an environment where sales of your products happen naturally - almost effortlessly.

Education is another that you want to be sure avoid at all cost. You're not educating yourself. There is a lot of Information you will need to learn, for any body wants to make money online. It is important that you take time to learn one thing at a time. Each time you learn new things, that will bring you a step close to earning money and run your home business successfuly.

You also need to look at the networking marketing company you're working with. Do they have any actual experience of network marketing themselves or is this just a funded start-up with no background in the industry? If the guys running the show have never had to build a team or a downline do they really understand this business model and should you be doing business with them? These are important questions that only you can answer for yourself. Plus if they've been in business for less than 2 years are they actually making money or just hoping they will? Can you rely on them to be around in 6 months time?

One of the biggest mistakes most new network marketers fall prey to is "Shiny Object Syndrome" which, coincidentally, shortens down to SOS - Giving up too soon! Have you ever suffered from the desire to jump from one program to the next because you heard it's in "Launch Mode" and you want to "Get in early"? Do you wind up promoting a brand new product or program every 60 days because you didn't see immediate success with the last one you half-promoted? Then, my friend, you're suffering from SOS.

The amount of money you make will depend on the time, effort and hard work you put into your business and letting people know about it.

"But is there a cure?" I hear you cry.

The answer is yes and it's incredibly simple.

STOP. STOP. STOP.

To be truly successful in network marketing you need to learn the ropes from start to finish with a single, legitimate and profitable program. If you're constantly changing products or promoting multiple products at once you're not creating the kind of personal expertise that can potentially make you a small fortune later on. Find a program and promote it until you've reached the ceiling and then promote it some more. Then and only then are you close to being ready to promote another program.

Be prepared to invest time and real effort in making money in networking marketing. A lot of people start off with their afterburners set to full burn with networking marketing and when they fail to achieve dazzling success in the first 60 days they quit and tell everyone that networking marketing doesn't work which is very far from the truth guys and girls.
